America

AMERICA is the world’s most famous racing yacht. Winning the ‘Royal Yacht Squadrons’ 100 Guinea Cup in 1852. This low black schooner from New York Yacht Club won the race around the Isle of Wight. They donated the trophy to the club, starting the America’s Cup Race.

The original America boat was destroyed during WW2 but this replica rebuilt in 1955 is now berthed in America Cup Harbor of Shelter Island in Point Loma San Diego doing daily pleasure cruises and charters. With a length of 139 feet and  mast height of 105 feet she can carry 77 passengers and crew.
