Tuesday – Boater’s Guide

You may have seen this leaflet around at boat shows or local businesses, but have you taken the time to read it?

The Boater’s Guide to the Federal Requirements for Recreational Boats covers all the basics of safe boating, but in the context of federal regulations. They cover life jackets, safety equipment, operations and it includes checklists and a sample float plan. Think of it as a condensed version of America’s Boating Course, with no test.
For experienced boaters, it will also help you distinguish between regulations and suggestions so that you can be more clear when you are helping others learn about boating.
